CABARET

After the sold-out world premiere season at The Esplanade during the
Singapore Arts Festival, Boxing Cabaret, the unique one-woman show
by the former male kickboxing champ from Thailand will return to
Singapore - LIVE on stage at Raffles Hotel's Jubilee Hall.
Presented in five rounds of comedy, drama, songs and dance, this
interactive solo-performance pits Parinya Charoenphol
(affectionately known as Nong Toom in Thailand) against Men, Love,
Muay Thai, the Audience and Herself. The show is performed in
English with musical numbers in various languages.
Inspired by the people she’s punched, the places she’s been and the
feelings few have experienced, Boxing Cabaret is written and
produced by Ekachai Uekrongtham, artistic director of ACTION Theatre
(Singapore) and director of Beautiful Boxer, the internationally
acclaimed film about Nong Toom’s life. It’s directed one of
Thailand’s most respected theatre directors Suwandee Jakravoravudh.
Nong Toom will be once again accompanied on piano by well-known
Singapore-based Filipino singer/musician Babes Conde who will also
perform several duets with her in Thai, English and Mandarin.
For the return season, in addition to the original 5 rounds of
comedy, drama, songs & dance, watch out for new materials inspired
by Nong Toom's idols such as Michelle Yeoh, Zhang Ziyi, Angelina
Jolie and Mulan! There will also be newly choreographed dance
sequences blending the martial art movements of Thai kickboxing with
the Likay (traditional Thai street opera).
So hurry, don’t miss out this time! Join Nong Toom for an
unforgettable evening of hirarious interactive fun, beautiful
musical moments, energetic dance numbers and heartfelt honesty.
